Sime Darby Property announced the launch of a major 500-acre industrial park project in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. This move aims to capitalize on the strong demand for industrial properties driven by supply chain restructuring and robust foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into the region.
Sime Darby Property (SD Property) today announced a new strategic project in Iskandar Puteri, Johor—a 500-acre integrated industrial park. The project will focus on high-tech manufacturing, logistics, and data centers. Management stated that the first phase is expected to contribute revenue by early 2027, targeting multinational corporations. Driven by this news, SD Property shares rose 1.5% to RM0.68. Analysts believe this move will significantly enhance SD Property's earnings quality and long-term growth potential, especially given Johor's strategic location near Singapore, as Malaysia's industrial property market continues to outperform the residential sector.
